Why it helps a lawn renovation

Thick thatch blocks seed-to-soil contact on an overseed. An electric unit is the DIY alternative to renting a gas power rake for a weekend.

How to use it

Not every overseed needs one — aeration alone is often enough. Set depth so you scratch thatch, not living crowns. Rake up debris before you spread seed. Corded models are lighter; plan an outdoor-rated extension cord.
